Simply put, Rob Labritz is one of the good guys in golf. The director of golf at GlenArbor Country Club made national headlines in 2013 when he holed out from the fairway to gain entry into the 2013 PGA Championship, but those of us in the metropolitan area have know about him for years. This morning, Rob joined the On Par program to discuss playing golf in the majors, the health of the game and his favorite course on Long Island. Enjoy and thank you for the support.
In this episode Bob Bubka, Woody Lashen, and I talk about the USGA's decision on anchored putting, Shinnecock Hills GC, National Golf Links of America, and golf on Long Island.
The golfing world knows Bob Bubka as the voice of the golf world on the SiriusXM PGA Tour channel , but few may know that he grew up in Sag Harbor on the east end of Long Island. Needless to say, Bob is very familiar with all that is great about golf on Long Island. I met Bob at this year’s Barclays tournament at Bethpage and I must say the experience was enlightening. Not only is he a wealth of information about the golf industry and golf on Long Island, but he is a true gentleman as well.
